First Post- Departure date decided

Hello friends, family and people we felt obliged to send this to (kidding....)

This will be the first blog I have ever written, and as far as I know it will be Christopher's as well.
There will be no structure or pattern to this blog, sometimes it will be short and sweet and other times it will be a detailed account event that will read like a novel (I don't even think that makes sense). It will simply be a means of letting people at home know what we're up to over the pond. We will include pictures in most of our posts and will soon inform you of where you can go to see most of our photos. We hope to write once a week but lets be honest I can barely return a phone call within a week so please be patient. I warn all: The spelling will most likely be abysmal, the form disjointed and we will be sampling as much European beer as we can so if some posts seem a bit off just ignore it and appreciate the content!

First order of business:

Our fights are finally booked! Departure date finally set. Christopher and I are officially preparing to leave for:

March 1st

Our flight is from Montreal to Edinburgh. Edinburgh is where we will be starting our adventure. We have been approved for our UK Visas and are just waiting on our Irish ones to come through. However Ireland requires plane tickets be booked before they issue they're visas (weird), so we booked flights.
This trip feels real now, we are both really excited, a little nervous but mostly excited. We are going to spend the next four weeks trying to see and spend time with as many people as we can and get all of our last minute "To do List" done. This includes of course: having a poutine, eating Dagwood's, savouring some Timmie's and visiting our favourite Chinese restaurants (What does it mean that one of the things I'll miss most is food?)

I have included some pictures of our preparation.

Christopher trying on his back pack.
FUN FACT* The back pack Christopher is wearing is actually my older brothers that was given to him about 13 years ago for Scout camping.
Me trying to sew on a Canadian flag badge to Christopher's pack... it was alot harder then it looks, as you can see Pam does a better job. Thanks Pam! (yes that is a bowl of peanut butter cookie dough next to me that I was eating with a spoon... don't judge me!!)
